Part 1: The Computer (The Hub) The computer is the "brain" that drives all other ICT tools. Fundamental Operation Power Cycle : Press the power button (\circleslash). Allow the Operating System (Windows/macOS) to load completely before clicking. Authentication : Enter credentials at the login screen. Ensure Num Lock is on if using a keypad for passwords. Peripheral Check : Ensure the mouse, keyboard, and monitor are responsive. If a wireless mouse fails, check the USB dongle or battery. Software Launch : Use the Start Menu or Taskbar to open applications. Use Alt + Tab to switch between open programs quickly. Data Management : Save files using Ctrl + S. Use a logical folder structure (e.g., Documents > Project A > Drafts). Safe Exit: Close all apps before selecting Shut Down. This prevents data corruption.
